MOSCOW, 22 Jul – Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will play in the European team at the Laver Cup in tennis, according to the tournament website.
Earlier, the European team included two other representatives of the Big Three – Swiss Roger Federer and Spaniard Rafael Nadal, as well as Briton Andy Murray. Swede Bjorn Borg will be the captain of the team. In total, Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Murray have 76 Grand Slam titles. At the moment, two more places remain vacant in the team.
“This is the only tournament where you can team up with the guys you normally compete against. Joining Rafa, Roger and Andy, my three biggest rivals of all time, would be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport.” Djokovic said.
The Laver Cup will be held in London from 23 to 25 September. The European team will play against the world team. This draw will be the fifth in history. At the previous tournament, the European team included Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev.
