American Esparza won the fight with Namajunas and won the UFC championship belt
MOSCOW, May 8 – American Carla Esparza defeated compatriot Rose Namajunas at the 274th numbered tournament of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and won the championship belt in the women’s minimum weight.
The title fight took place in Phoenix (USA) and ended with the victory of the challenger by a split decision of the judges.
This was the second meeting of athletes in the octagon; in 2014, Esparza defeated her opponent ahead of schedule and became the champion. Esparza now has 19 wins and six losses. Namajunas has won 11 career fights and lost five.
