MOSCOW, 12 Sep – The match of the second round of the Europa League between Arsenal (England) and PSV (Netherlands) was postponed due to mourning for the British Queen Elizabeth II, according to the website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The postponement is due to severe police resource constraints and organizational issues due to ongoing activities related to national mourning for Queen Elizabeth II.
The meeting was scheduled for September 15th. Earlier, for the same reason, the Champions League match between the Scottish “Rangers” and the Italian “Napoli” was postponed from 13 to 14 September.
Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Thursday at the age of 97. The Queen’s funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on September 19.
