Messaggero: Former Zenit coach Mancini could lead PSG
MOSCOW, 28 Mar – French football club Paris Saint-Germain are interested in appointing Italy’s Roberto Mancini as head coach of the team, according to Il Messaggero.
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi is considering the 58-year-old Italian because of his ability to work with long-bench championship teams and his teams’ attacking style, according to the source. In addition, in Mancini’s favor is the fact that he has a good relationship with midfielder Marco Verratti and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. It is noted that the coach himself is considering the possibility of starting a new stage in his career. Al-Khelaifi is also eyeing Roma coach Jose Mourinho.
Mancini has been working with the Italian national team since May 2018, which he led to victory at the European Championship in 2021. The coach’s contract with the Italian Football Federation runs until 2026. Paris Saint-Germain is led by Christophe Galtier.
