MOSCOW, 23 Jul – Former Liverpool owner and chairman David Moores has died at the age of 76, according to the club’s website.
It is noted that he died a few weeks after the death of his 39-year-old wife.
The Moors family has owned Liverpool for over 50 years, with David Moores being the club’s chairman from 1991 to 2007. During his tenure, the team won 10 trophies, including the UEFA Cup (2001), the Champions League (2005) and the UEFA Super Cup (2005). It is noted that his uncle Sir John Moores, the founder of Littlewoods, was the owner of Everton in the 1960s and 70s.
