Faf du Plessis said, “South Africa cricket has entered a new era, new leadership, new faces, new challenges, and new strategies. I will still play as a player in all three formats for the South African team and help the new leader of the team.”
Faf du Plessis said that ‘when I took over leadership, I started working with a commitment to lead, perform and most importantly serve. This decision was extremely difficult for me, but I promise Quinton De Kock, Mark Boucher, and all my colleagues that we will build a new and young team.’
Whereas in the T20 series played with England, the command of the team was in the hands of Quinton De Kock. Faf du Plessis was given rest in this series.
