MOSCOW, 26 Jul – The chairman of the board of directors of the Moscow football club “Spartak” Leonid Fedun called the rumors about his departure from the post of head of the club nonsense.
On Tuesday, one of the Telegram channels reported that in the near future Fedun would be replaced as chairman of the board of directors by the first vice president of Lukoil, which is the title sponsor of the club, Alexander Matytsyn.
“This is nonsense, I don’t want to comment on the nonsense that appears in the press from time to time,” RBC Sport quoted Fedun as saying.
Fedun acquired a controlling stake in Spartak in 2004. With Fedun, the Red-Whites won the Russian Championship of the 2016/2017 season, the 2017 Super Cup of the country, and also the Russian Cup on May 29, defeating Dynamo Moscow in the final.
