Crazy plot in the match “Dynamo” Kyiv! Lucescu passed the Turks in the Champions League
The Ukrainian goalkeeper repeated Akinfeev’s trick and became the hero of the match.
A week ago, Dynamo Kyiv played its first official match in 2022. Mircea Lucescu’s team hosted Fenerbahce on a neutral field in Poland in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The meeting ended in a goalless draw, and the intrigue in the pair survived until the return match at Ulker – Sukru Saracoglu in Istanbul.
Mircea Lucescu, who last year led Dynamo to victory in the Ukrainian championship for the first time in five years, did not change the concept of his team’s game on the road and started the match as number two. In the first half, the people of Kiev had only one moment at the gates of others, and even that ended with a blow wide. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, scored a goal that was canceled, hit the post and carried out two and a half times more dangerous attacks than Dynamo.
In the second half, everything changed dramatically. In the 53rd minute, Fenerbahce midfielder Ismail Yuksek got sent off, receiving a second yellow card for demolishing Buyalsky. The people of Kiev immediately took advantage of the numerical advantage – four minutes later, the same Buyalsky opened the scoring in the match, closing the goalkeeper’s transfer of Tomas Kendzyora.
Fenerbahce had no choice but to go on the attack. In the 69th minute, this brought an intermediate success – Denis Popov violated the rules in the penalty area on Enner Valencia, and the chief referee set a penalty. Dynamo was rescued by goalkeeper Bushchan. The Ukrainian jumped into the right corner of the goal and hit the ball flying in the center of the goal with his left foot. Akinfeev performed the same number at the 2018 World Cup in a match with Spain.

Replacements for Jorge Jesus, once in charge of Benfica, worked towards the end of the match. Lincoln, who appeared in the 85th minute, assisted four minutes after replacing Attila Salai, who moved the meeting into extra time. Thanks to the game in the majority, Dynamo controlled the course of overtime. The people of Kiev did not give anything to the creation of Fenerbahce, and in the 114th minute they carried out a cool attack, which ended with the winning goal of Alexander Karavaev – Altai Bayindyr caught the ball already in the goal.
The Russian coach was wildly unlucky in the Champions League. Lucescu has more reasons to be optimistic
Having calmed down the game, Dynamo brought the match to victory (2:1). Now Mircea Lucescu’s team will play on August 2 and 9 with the Austrian Sturm in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. If successful, the Kievans will need to go through one more opponent in the playoff round to get into the group. Once Lucescu already started Dynamo there – will it work now?
