FIFA has expanded sanctions against ex-leaders of Juventus to all tournaments under its auspices
MOSCOW, 29 Mar – The International Football Federation (FIFA) has expanded sanctions against the former leaders of the Turin “Juventus” in the framework of the case of financial fraud, according to Sky Sports News, citing the organization.
In January, the appeal court of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) held hearings to reopen the trial in the case of financial fraud. The FIGC prosecutor’s office deprived Juventus of 15 points, and also removed a number of club functionaries from football, including director Fabio Paratici, ex-president Andrea Agnelli, former chief executive Maurizio Arrivabene and vice-president Pavel Nedved.
FIGC has asked that sanctions be extended to ex-Juventus executives around the world. FIFA confirmed that it had granted this request. The ban on football activity in all tournaments under the auspices of the international federation affected Paratici, who currently holds the post of sports director of London Tottenham. Sky Sports suggests that the Italian will not be able to directly conduct any transfer activities or participate in the search for the team’s coaches, but will be able to deal with internal work at the club.
