Five KHL players named to the US Ice Hockey Team for the Beijing Olympics

MOSCOW, Jan 14 – Five players from the clubs of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) were included in the final squad of the US team for the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, according to the official website of the country’s ice hockey federation.
They were defender Stephen Kaempfer (“Ak Bars”, Kazan), forwards Andy Mile, Kenny Agostino (both – “Torpedo”, Nizhny Novgorod), Brian O’Neill (“Jokerit”, Helsinki) and Nick Shor (“Siberia”, Novosibirsk).
The men’s Olympic hockey tournament starts on February 9th. Team USA will play in a group with teams from Canada, Germany and China.
The full squad for the US Olympics is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Drew Commesso (Boston University), Strauss Mann (Skelleftea, Sweden), Patrick Nagle (Lehigh Valley Phantoms, USA);
Defensemen: Kaempfer, Brian Cooper (Oskarshamn, Sweden), Brock Faber (University of Minnesota), Drew Helleson (Boston College), Aaron Ness (Providence Bruins), Nick Perbix (Saint Cloud State University), Jake Sanderson (University of North Dakota), David Warsofsky (Ingolstadt, Germany);
Forwards: Mile, Agostino, O’Neill, Shore, Nick Abruzzese, Sean Farrell (both Harvard University), Matty Beniers, Brendan Brisson (both Michigan University), Noah Cates (University of Minnesota Duluth), Sam Henges (Saint State University) Cloud), Matthew Nice, Ben Meyers, Nathan Smith (all from the University of Minnesota), Mark McLaughlin (Boston College).
