MOSCOW, 22 Jul – France’s Christophe Laporte of the Jumbo-Visma team won the 19th stage of the Tour de France stage race.
He covered the 188.5 km stage in 3 hours 52 minutes 4 seconds. The Belgian Jesper Philipsen (+0.01) from Alpecin-Deceuninck finished second, the Italian Alberto Dainese (+0.01) from Team DSM finished third.
Russian Bora-Hansgrohe cyclist Aleksandr Vlasov (+0.06), riding a neutral flag, finished in 12th position.
In the general classification with a total time of 75 hours 45 minutes 44 seconds, the Dane Jonas Wingegaard from the Jumbo-Visma team is in the lead. The second is the current champion Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (+3.21) from UAE Team Emirates, the third place is taken by Briton Geraint Thomas from Ineos Grenadiers (+8.00). Vlasov is in seventh place (+14.10).
The 20th stage, 40.7 km long, will take place on July 23. The cycling race finishes a day later in Paris.
