Titov: FSGR agreed with RUSADA’s decision to disqualify gymnast Simakova
The Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation (FSGR) has agreed with the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to disqualify European champion Angelina Simakova for two years, FSGR President Vasily Titov told RIA Novosti.
On Thursday, RUSADA announced that furosemide was found in Simakova’s doping test, the athlete was suspended for two years starting from June 2, 2022.
“We agreed with RUSADA’s decision,” Titov said.
Simakova is 19 years old. In 2018, as part of the Russian national gymnastics team, the athlete became the European champion and the silver medalist of the World Championship.
