Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal turned 30 on July 23. Chahal played his first ODI match for Zimbabwe on 11 June 2016 for India. He also played his first T20 match against the same team. Chahal has played 52 ODIs and 42 T20 matches for Team India so far.
Apart from this, he has also done well for Virat Kohli’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Chahal was included in his team in 2011 by Mumbai Indians. He got his first IPL match in 2013. Chahal was fielded in only one match in the season. At that time Harbhajan Singh was the main spinner of the team. Then in the next season i.e. 2014, RCB bought him in his team.
He got an equal chance to play there. The RCB team management showed confidence in Chahal and he also stood by this belief. Chahal took 100 wickets in 83 matches. Playing for RCB changed Chahal’s fortunes and gave him a chance in the Indian team.
Chahal was born on 23 July 1990 in Jind, Haryana. He started his career as a chess player. Chahal also represented India in the Asian and World Junior Championships.
In 2002, the under-12 National Children’s Chase became champions. He is the only player to represent India in chess and cricket. Due to lack of sponsor, Chahal left chess. He played for Mumbai in the Champions League T20 final against RCB. In that match, he took 2 wickets for 9 runs. He got recognition from there.
Chahal likes football besides chess and cricket. He is a fan of Spain’s football club Rial Madrid and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. Chahal likes Katrina Kaif a lot. She is also the crush of this spinner at Ballwood. Chahal is the first Indian cricketer to take 5 wickets in a T20 match.
6 wickets for 25 runs has been his best performance. He is the world’s first leg spinner to take six wickets in T20. Along with this, he is also the third bowler to take more than 50 wickets for India in T20.
