Harry Kane Scores Twice in 100th England Match: Leads 2-0 Win Over Finland in UEFA Nations League

Harry Kane celebrated a major milestone in his career during the England–Finland match in the UEFA Nations League. The match, which took place at Wembley, marked Kane’s 100th appearance for England.

Before Match Kane was honored with a commemorative golden cap, and he made the occasion even more memorable by wearing golden boots. The England captain didn’t disappoint scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory over Finland.

Kane netted his first goal in the 57th minute, breaking through a Finnish defender before blasting the ball into the back of the net. His second goal came in the 76th minute securing the win for England. After the match, an emotional Kane told ITV, “It was a big night for me. I’m very proud to have played 100 matches. I always want to score and help the team.”

By scoring twice in this milestone match, Kane joined an elite group of England players becoming only the third to score in their 100th appearance, following legends Bobby Charlton and Wayne Rooney. However, Kane is the first to score a brace in this special moment.

This victory marked England’s second win in the current UEFA Nations League campaign, following a 2-0 win against Ireland in their first match under interim coach Lee Kersley. Despite back-to-back wins, England isn’t leading Group 2 in the second tier of the Nations League. Greece, who also beat Ireland 2-0, took the top spot on goal difference.

In other football action, the Netherlands and Germany played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Amsterdam. The Netherlands shocked Germany by scoring just 99 seconds into the match, the fastest goal against Germany in 50 years.

Tiani Reinders was the scorer. Despite this early setback, Germany took a 2-1 lead by halftime with goals from Deniz Undav and Joshua Kimmich. The Dutch leveled the score once again in the 50th minute with a goal from Denzel Dumfries.

However, the match brought some bad news for Manchester City as Dutch defender Nathan Ake was forced off with an injury in the first half. City may have to manage without him for a few weeks, during which they face crucial Premier League matches against Brentford and Arsenal, as well as a Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
