Austrian biathlete Hauser wins the sprint at the World Cup in Kontiolahti

MOSCOW, 3 Dec – Austrian Lisa Teresa Hauser won the sprint at the first stage of the Biathlon World Cup, which takes place in Finnish Kontiolahti.
She covered the distance of 7.5 km in 20 minutes 39.5 seconds without a single miss. The second was Italian Lisa Vitozzi (17.3 seconds back; 1 miss), the third was Sweden’s Lynn Persson (+24.2; 0).
The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in September decided to uphold the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice amid the situation in Ukraine.
The stage in Kontiolahti will end on December 4 with the pursuit.
