Hans-Dieter Flick, 57 (German national team) – € 6.5 million

Flick first appeared in the national team in 2006. Then he accepted the offer of the German Football Association and entered the headquarters of Joachim Loew. In this role, he went to two world championships and two European championships. At each of these tournaments, the German team reached at least the semi-finals, and in 2014 won the World Cup in Brazil. After that, Flick worked as a sports director for the German national team and Hoffenheim, and then ended up at Bayern. At first he worked as an assistant to Niko Kovacs, then he received the status of acting head coach, but soon got rid of this prefix. Under his leadership, the Munich club won everything they could, after which Flick returned to the national team. He took over the team after the unsuccessful Euro 2020 for the Germans and brought it to the 2022 World Cup. The German national team is the first team to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Southgate took charge of England in September 2016. He replaced Sam Allardyce, who left the post in connection with a scandal. He led the team to the World Cup in Russia, where the British reached the semi-finals for the first time in 28 years. Three years later, Southgate brought the national team to the final of the European Championship, but in the decisive match, she lost on penalties to the Italians.

The British confidently overcame the qualifying stage for the 2022 World Cup – first place in the group, not a single defeat in 10 matches. The closest pursuer (Poland) was six points behind.

Deschamps has won the World Cup both as a football player and as a coach. Didier took over the national team in 2012, and under his leadership she held four major tournaments. In 2018, the French won the World Cup, and two years earlier they stopped a step away from winning the home Euro. But the other two tournaments were not so successful – the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup and the flight to the 1/8 finals of Euro 2020. In eight qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup, the French did not suffer a single defeat and were ahead of the Ukrainian team by six points.

The first coach on the list to represent a non-European team. Tite took charge of the Brazilian team in 2016. Under his leadership, the team went to the World Cup in Russia, where they flew out at the quarterfinal stage. A year later, Tite led the team to victory in the America’s Cup. The Brazilians qualified for the World Cup in Qatar without any problems, scoring 14 wins in 17 matches and winning the South American group.

The experienced coach resumed his career for the Netherlands national team, which he led in the summer of 2021. This is Van Gaal’s third entry into the national team. The first (from 2000 to 2001) was a failure: the national team flew past the 2002 World Cup. The second (from 2012 to 2014) turned out to be completely different – the Netherlands won bronze medals at the World Championships in Brazil. Van Gaal will again take the team to the world championship, because she won the qualifying group and was directly selected for Qatar.

In the selection for the 2022 World Cup, the team took second place, losing to Canada only in additional indicators.

In 2022, the South American team added another trophy to this – they defeated Italy (3: 0) in the Finalissima match.

The Spaniard has been with the Qatar national team since 2017. It was not possible to bring the team to the World Championship in Russia, but in 2019 it won the Asian Cup. This is the first trophy in the history of the Qatar national team. There were no problems in the selection for the 2022 World Cup, since the hosts of the World Cup did not have this very selection.

Fernando Santos, 68 years old (Portugal national team) – € 2.25 million

The coach took charge of the Portuguese national team in September 2014. Two years later, he brought the team to the gold medals of the European Championship in France. In the decisive match, the Portuguese defeated the hosts of the tournament. But in the next two major tournaments, the team flew out in the first round of the playoffs. The Portuguese finished second in the qualifying group for the 2022 World Cup, but still got into the tournament thanks to the play-offs. First they beat Turkey (3:1), and then North Macedonia (2:0).
