IND vs SA, PSL 2020, IPL 2020: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has canceled a three-day series between India and South Africa.
The BCCI has taken this decision in view of the increasing cases of coronaviruses. The first match of the series was canceled in Dharamsala on 12 March due to rain.
The second match was to be played in Lucknow on 15 March and Kolkata on 18 March. BCCI sources informed about the cancellation of both ODIs.
The BCCI decided to cancel the series when Team India captain Virat Kohli reached Lucknow with his colleagues. During this, Kohli, Lokesh Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were seen wearing masks.
Both the matches in Lucknow and Kolkata were to take place at the stadium without any spectators.
The board official said, “The South African team will come to Delhi and leave home with the earliest available flight.”
Earlier, on Friday, the board decided to postpone the 13th edition of the IPL. The tournament was scheduled to begin on March 29, but now it will be from April 15.
The Test series played between Sri Lanka and England has also been postponed. The England and Wales Cricket Board recalled their players from Sri Lanka.
PSL 2020: 9 foreign cricketers participating in Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to Coronavirus will leave for home immediately. These include Jason Roy of England, Alex Hales, and James Vince.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board said that the PSL will run as per the scheduled schedule despite the withdrawal of these players.
The PCB had earlier decided to hold the remaining matches of PSL in the vacant stadium.
