Rahul Dravid is currently in Sri Lanka as head coach
Rahul Dravid is currently on a tour of Sri Lanka as the head coach of the Indian team. Earlier he has coached India A and Under-19 team. Apart from this, he is also the head of the National Cricket Academy. Even there, he guides the players a lot.
Arvind de Silva told that he had also asked Mahela Jayawardene to become the coach of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team but could not persuade him. He said in an event organized by Sony,
When Rahul Dravid was made the coach of the Indian Under-19 team, it was a very good decision according to me. I too have been asking Mahela Jayawardene to take over the responsibility of the U-19 team for a long time but could not succeed. Under-19 is a level where you can build a solid foundation. If the foundation is right then the road ahead becomes easy.
Let us tell you that recently there have been reports that Mahela Jayawardene will work as a consultant for Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team. According to Sri Lankan media, orders for his appointment have come.
