Unlike traditional ground cameras, this robot tracks bowlers’ run-ups and batters’ movements in real time, delivering dynamic angles and crystal-clear footage. Named “Champak” by fans, it brings a fresh perspective to broadcasts, blending fun and functionality. Players like Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel have already warmed up to it, with Pandya calling it a “good boy” for its responsive commands.

Robot Vision Sports, based in Ahmedabad, isn’t new to sports tech. Having previously built similar devices for European football leagues, the startup tailored this robot for cricket’s fast-paced demands. Equipped with advanced cameras and AI algorithms, it ensures no action goes unnoticed, from a bowler’s stride to a batter’s flick.

Rumors initially sparked online, with some claiming the robot was Chinese-made. However, Robot Vision Sports clarified it’s a 100% Indian innovation, showcasing the country’s growing prowess in robotics. “We’re proving Indian startups can compete globally.
