Inter Miami players lost to Atlanta in an MLS match without Messi
MOSCOW, September 17 – Inter Miami players lost to Atlanta United in a regular season match of the North American Major League Soccer (MLS).
The meeting in Atlanta ended with a score of 5:2 in favor of the hosts. The winners scored goals from Tristan Muyumba (36), Brooks Lennon (44), Georgios Yakumakis (76) and Tyler Wolff (89), while Inter Miami defender Kamal Miller (41) scored another goal into his own goal. Leonardo Campana scored a brace for the visitors (25; 53, penalty).
Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi missed the meeting. The team coach decided to take care of the Argentinean after matches for the national team.
Inter Miami is 14th in the Eastern Conference table with 28 points from 27 matches. Atlanta is sixth with 45 points from 29 matches.
Messi moved to Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. The Argentinean is a graduate of the Spanish Barcelona, where he became a ten-time champion of Spain and a four-time winner of the Champions League. In 2021, he moved to the French Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he won the national championship twice and the French Super Cup once. As part of the Argentina national team, Messi became a world champion and winner of the America’s Cup. The Argentinean is a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
