Ken Williamson has been removed from the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. And David Warner has been made Captain in his place.
The Indian Premier League 2020 13th season is to begin on March 29. Before the tournament started, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a big change in the team. Kane Williamson, who led the team in the last two seasons, has been removed from the captaincy. His place is again handed over to David Warner.
Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of Kane Williamson lost against Chennai Super Kings in the final played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in 2018. After had to face defeat in the Eliminator match against Delhi Capitals last season.
Prior to this, Warner captained the team in three seasons from 2015 to 2017. Meanwhile, in 2016, Hyderabad had managed to win the title. Hyderabad team won 26 matches in 45 matches under the captaincy of Warner. At the same time, the team managed to win 14 of 26 matches under Williamson’s captaincy.
With Williamson, not the captain, Hyderabad will have the facility to replace foreign players. Warner will be scheduled to play. So the team could have Williamson, Johnny Bairstow, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Fabian Allen, Mitchell Marsh and Billy Stanlake among three other foreign players in the playing eleven.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad team will play their first match this season against the Mumbai Indians on April 1 at the home ground.
