According to the Portuguese outlet “Record,” Neymar is unlikely to return before January next year. Al Hilal’s coach is being cautious with the 32-year-old footballer. Meanwhile, complications have arisen due to the club’s transfers this season.
The Saudi Pro League allows clubs to register a maximum of 8 foreign players per season. Currently, Al Hilal has 9 foreign players, including Neymar. Renan Lodi was signed late in the transfer window, and it’s reported that Neymar is competing with Lodi for the final foreign player spot.
Al Hilal must submit their final squad list by September 9. With Neymar’s recovery progressing slower than expected, several media outlets suggest he may be left out of the squad.
Coach Jorge Jesus doesn’t expect Neymar to join team training until November at the earliest, meaning he might only play two or three games before the winter break in December.
