Isner beats Murray in Wimbledon second round match
MOSCOW, June 29 – American tennis player John Isner beat Britain’s Andy Murray in the second round of Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season.
The meeting ended with a score of 6:4, 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (3:7), 6:4 in favor of Isner, who received the 20th seed. The duration of the match was 3 hours 23 minutes.

In the third round, Isner will play with the Italian Yannick Sinner (10th seed).
In another match, the American Reilly Opelka (15) lost to the Dutchman Tim van Reithoven – 4:6, 7:6 (10:8), 6:7 (7:9), 6:7 (4:7).
Wimbledon, held on grass courts, will end on July 10. In April, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) refused to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to the tournament because of the situation in Ukraine. In response, in May, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) decided not to award ranking points to competitors.
