MOSCOW, 21 July – The International Skating Union (ISU) has approved British Sheffield as the venue for the fourth stage of the Figure Skating Grand Prix series, according to the organization’s website.
Initially, the stage was supposed to be held in China, but the competition was postponed due to the fact that coronavirus restrictions remain in the country. The Sheffield stage will take place as planned from 11 to 13 November. The UK will host a stage of the Figure Skating Grand Prix series for the first time.
Earlier, the ISU confirmed the transfer of the Russian stage of the Grand Prix in figure skating to the Finnish Espoo. In April, the ISU decided to cancel the Russian stage and extended the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization due to the situation in Ukraine.
