Before the two-match Test series between India and New Zealand. New Zealand captain Ken Williamson has a statement about Virat Kohli.

Kane Williamson said, “Indian captain Virat Kohli is currently the best batsman of all three formats.”

He also praised the Indian fast bowling attack. Kane Williamson said, his team will Indian fast bowlers Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jaspreet Bumrah with ‘check and test’ moderation in the first Test starting here from Friday.

Williamson said, “it would be completely different from facing Australian fast bowlers on their soil.” Australia defeated New Zealand 3–0 in the last Test series.

Captain Kane Williamson said, “Things are different here.” India has a world-class fast attack that has done well in every situation.

After the defeat in Australia, we definitely want to return to the path of victory. We have taken a lesson from that series but we will play here in our style as well.

He said, here the bowlers will get help in the beginning. But later it will be easy for the batsmen too. There is balance in this and everyone will get a chance.

Williamson said, “Virat Kohli’s wicket is important but his team is not focusing only on him. There is no doubt that Virat Kohli is the best batsman of all three formats. But the entire team of India is very good and that is why they are at the forefront of the World Test Championship. We cannot focus on one player only.”

He said, ‘Our views about the game are similar. Our approach is different. But it was inspiring to know the thinking of a captain who leads his team with his competitive attitude.’
