MOSCOW, 22 Jul – Russian Aslan Karatsev failed to reach the semi-finals of the ATP 500 tennis tournament in Hamburg, Germany, the prize fund of which is 1.7 million euros.
Karatsev (37th in the ATP rankings) lost to Argentina’s Francisco Cherundolo (30) in the quarterfinals 3:6, 6:4, 6:7 (4:7). Tennis players spent 2 hours and 25 minutes on the court.

On Thursday, the Argentine beat another representative of Russia – Andrey Rublev (8). Last week, Cherundolo won the first ATP title of his career, becoming the winner of the tournament in Sweden’s Båstad.
For reaching the final of the tournament in Hamburg, Cherundolo will compete with the winner of the match Lorenzo Musetti (Italy, 62) – Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina (Spain, 35).
