Kasatkina qualified for the final WTA tournament

Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina qualified for the final WTA tournament

MOSCOW, 21 Oct – Russian Daria Kasatkina has qualified for the final tournament of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in singles.
Kasatkina made it to the tournament thanks to the defeat of American Madison Keys (13th in the WTA championship race) in the third round match of the tournament in Guadalajara (Mexico) with Belarusian Victoria Azarenka. The Russian is in seventh position in the WTA championship race.
Together with Kasatkina, Belarusian Arina Sobolenko qualified for the tournament. Previously, Poland’s Iga Schwentek, Ons Jaber from Tunisia, Americans Jessica Pegula and Corey Gauff, as well as Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia have earned the right to play there.
The final WTA tournament will be held from October 31 to November 7 in the US city of Fort Worth. Kasatkina became the first Russian since 2016 to qualify for the final WTA tournament. Then Svetlana Kuznetsova reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
