Tampa Bay forward Kucherov is the first Russian to score 100 points in the 2022/23 NHL Championship
MOSCOW, 20 Mar – Russian forward “Tampa Bay Lightning” Nikita Kucherov reached the mark of 100 points in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) season 2022/23.
The Lightning forward scored a goal against the New Jersey Devils. This productive action was the 100th for the Russian in the current draw (28 goals and 72 assists). It took Kucherov 71 matches to achieve this goal.
The 29-year-old Lightning striker became the third player in the 2022-23 season to reach the 100-point mark. Previously, this peak was conquered by Edmonton Oilers forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Among Russian hockey players, Kucherov is the fastest to reach hundreds of points during the current regular season.
Kucherov is in his ninth regular season in the NHL. For the third time in his career, he scored 100 or more points in one championship. The best for the Russian is the 2018/19 season, following which the striker scored 128 points (41 goals and 87 assists) in 82 matches. Kucherov is the only player in Tampa history to have more than one season with 100 points.
