Kudermetova and Mertens beat a pair of Kichenok and Ostapenko in the match of the final WTA tournament

MOSCOW, 2 Nov – Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova and Belgium’s Elise Mertens defeated Ukraine’s Lyudmila Kichenok and Latvia’s Alena Ostapenko in the first group stage doubles match at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) final tournament, which has a total prize pool of $5 million.
The Kudermetova/Mertens pair won with a score of 3:6, 6:1, 10:6. Tennis players spent 1 hour and 22 minutes on the court.
