Swedish police are looking into 25-year-old Kylian Mbappe as suspect in rape case, Expressen reports. The investigation involves an unknown victim.
The incident happened at a hotel in Stockholm where Mbappe and his companions were staying. Authorities “have reason” to believe the footballer was involved.
Last week, the Real Madrid player visited Stockholm. He was seen at a restaurant and nightclub on Friday. Mbappe, currently recovering from an injury, had missed several games with the French national team, allowing him to make the trip to Sweden.
Mbappe called the accusations “fake” on social media, suggesting the timing was linked to the appeal hearings of his former club PSG over a debt of €55 million. PSG denied these claims.
Last summer, Mbappe left PSG and moved to Spain, waiting for his contract to end.
