Liverpool have signed 18-year-old Scottish footballer Calvin Ramsey
MOSCOW, June 19 – English “Liverpool” has signed a long-term contract with 18-year-old defender of the youth football team of Scotland Calvin Ramsey, according to the official website of the Merseysiders.
Ramsey scored one goal and provided nine assists in 39 appearances for Scottish side Aberdeen last season. The Scottish Football Journalists’ Association named him the 2021/22 Young Player of the Year.
“It’s just a thrill and a dream come true. I ended up in one of the strongest, if not the strongest club in the world. This is a huge achievement. I’m looking forward to showing what I can do,” said Ramsey.
Sky Sports notes that the clubs have agreed to transfer the defender for 4 million pounds. Aberdeen could also receive an additional £2.5m in bonus payments. The Scot became Liverpool’s third signing in the summer transfer window. The club previously signed Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho.
