On the day of her 35th birthday, the most titled tennis player in Russia, Maria Sharapova, announced that she was expecting a baby. Like all future mothers, the famous champion is already making a cozy nest with might and main, where her heir or heiress will soon settle. Moreover, there is where to equip a children’s room – Sharapova owns a chic house in Los Angeles and a stunning ranch near the ocean.

Maria Sharapova finished furnishing her Japanese-style house, which is located in one of the most prestigious areas of California, in 2019 – shortly before the announcement of her retirement. According to the tennis player, she dealt with the details of the design of the house herself. Of course, professional architects and designers worked on it, but Sharapova approved the final decisions on all issues. So the house and all the space in it look exactly the way the Russian woman wanted.

Maria Sharapova is so proud of her work that she agreed to conduct a video tour for everyone and told in detail about the design features: “At the entrance you are met by a pine tree and a specially made fountain. Then you get under the high ceiling, giving a lot of light and space. Here you feel like you are on the beach.

I like to feel at the same time inside the house and on the street. Light gives the house a special atmosphere. My previous house had a lot of colored art: green, pink. The walls of this house are made of concrete.

Because of this, the construction took so long, almost 3 years. I thought that all the paintings would move to a new house. But there aren’t many of them here. Concrete itself is a work of art. I often buy sculptures. For example, this chair is from the 1960s.

The Japanese door serves as a countertop. The painting changes the light.

Usually the pool is located far from the house, in the yard. But I wanted to see water from the kitchen window. There is a small lawn here. I didn’t want anything formal. So there are sofas with cushions instead of chairs. This lamp is made to order especially for this house. I saw her at the hotel and ordered a work from the artist. It was amazing to watch him work.

This is where we cook our own food. I say “we” because I rarely cook myself, because I am constantly on the road. The kitchen is in a large open space so as not to separate the guests from the one who is currently cooking.

But the huge house in Los Angeles is not all of Sharapova’s real estate. In 2020, the 5-time Grand Slam champion purchased a stunning ranch near the ocean. According to some reports, its cost is $ 9 million. The ranch is located near Santa Barbara and occupies 5 acres of land. This is about 2 hectares or 200 acres.

Adjacent to the house is a separate studio, hidden by a dense cover of lush foliage, which can become a personal office and workshop for the artist.

The guest house features a Dutch-style décor with a two-piece front door. The back door leads to a spacious stone patio. There, walking along a hilly lawn, you can go down the mountain directly to the beach.
