Spaniard Roberto Martinez will renew the contract with the Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB) and will remain the head coach of the national team until the end of the World Cup in Qatar, Sporza reports.
An official extension of the contract with Martinez will be announced shortly.
The 46-year-old Martinez has led the Belgian national team since 2016. The current specialist agreement with KBVB ended in 2020 after the European Championship, which was eventually postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Belgian national team is the rival of the Russian team at EURO 2020. Their group also included teams from Denmark and Finland.
