Match “Sochi” – “Spartak” may be postponed due to the state of the lawn at “Fishte”
MOSCOW, 28 Aug – On September 5-6, the Russian Premier League (RPL) will conduct an inspection control of the quality of the football field at the Fisht stadium, after which it will decide on the venue for the Sochi-Spartak match, according to the league website.
Earlier, the RPL commission assessed the possibility of holding matches of the Russian championship at the Fisht stadium against the backdrop of a sharp deterioration in the state of the lawn. Based on the results of the check, Sochi was allowed to play at the home arena. On Sunday, the hosts lost to Lokomotiv in the home match of the sixth round of the RPL with a score of 0: 1, the forward of the capital’s team Artem Dzyuba called the Fisht arena field ugly.
According to article 10.5.2 of the RPL regulations, if the lawn of the main stadium is not ready 10 calendar days before the date of the match, the game must be played at the team’s reserve arena, provided that it is allowed before the meetings.
The match of the eighth round of the RPL “Sochi” – “Spartak” is scheduled for September 16 in Sochi.
