Former UFC champion McGregor says he wants to buy Liverpool Football Club

MOSCOW, 9 Nov – Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in two weight categories Irishman Conor McGregor declared on Twitter that he wants to buy the English football club Liverpool.
Earlier, The Athletic reported that the American company Fenway Sports Group (FSG) put Liverpool up for sale. The company has already prepared a full presentation for those interested in buying the club. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have been hired to help with the sale. Later it was reported that the investment company Dubai International Capital (DIC) from the UAE is ready to acquire Liverpool for 4.3 billion pounds. According to The Times, the FSG is considering offers from £3bn.
Earlier, the Irishman was interested in buying the Chelsea football club, he was ready to pay 1.5 billion pounds. He also negotiated the acquisition of shares in the Scottish Celtic.
FSG is investing in sports. She, in particular, owns the Boston Red Sox baseball club and the Pittsburgh Penguins team of the National Hockey League. Liverpool has been owned by the company since October 2010. In 2019, the club won the Champions League, and in 2020, for the first time in 30 years, they became the champions of England.
