ESPN: Jokic Named MVP of the NBA Season for the Second Time in a Row

MOSCOW, May 9 – Serbian center “Denver” Nikola Jokic the second season in a row will be named the most valuable player (MVP) in the National Basketball Association (NBA) following the results of the regular season, according to ESPN.
Jokic averaged 27.1 points per game, 13.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. The Serb also became the first player in NBA history to record 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a season.
An official announcement is expected this week. Also up for the MVP title are Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee) and Joel Embiid (Philadelphia).
Prior to Jokic, Antetokounmpo had been the MVP for the previous two NBA seasons.
