Medvedev broke Safin’s record for the number of weeks of leadership in the ATP rankings

MOSCOW, 25 Jul – Russian Daniil Medvedev retained the first position in the updated rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), published on the official website of the organization.
Medvedev entered his tenth week as world number one and broke the Russian men’s singles record previously held by Marat Safin (nine weeks). Andrey Rublev kept the eighth line. Karen Khachanov moved up three spots to 23rd, while Aslan Karatsev continues to rank 37th.
Carlos Alcaraz made his debut in the top 5 of the rankings, moving up to number five. The 19-year-old Spaniard became the youngest tennis player to do so since 2005, when another Spanish representative Rafael Nadal entered.
