IBU Cup men’s sprint in Slovakia rescheduled for Saturday due to strong winds

MOSCOW, 14 Jan – The men’s sprint at the stage of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Cup in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia) was postponed to Saturday due to strong wind, according to the Telegram channel of the Russian Biathlon Union.
The sprint race was originally supposed to take place on Friday. Russians Vasily Tomshin, Dmitry Ivanov, Petr Pashchenko, Nikita Porshnev, Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov and Mikhail Pervushin should take part in the race.
According to the press service of the IBU, Saturday’s men’s pursuit has been cancelled. The women’s pursuit will take place as scheduled.

Earlier on Friday, the women’s sprint took place. The winner of the race was the Frenchwoman Camille Benet. The second and third places were taken by the Russians Evgenia Burtasova and Natalya Gerbulova, respectively.
