MOSCOW, 25 Jul – Minsk “Dinamo” has signed a trial agreement with two-time world champion in the Russian team Nikolai Zherdev, according to the website of the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
Last season, the striker played for the Slovak club Bratislava Capitals in the Austrian League (1 puck + 6 assists in 12 matches) and for the Italian Merano in the Alpine League (10 + 11 in 18 matches).
Zherdev was selected fourth overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. In North America, he played for Columbus, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. In Russia, the striker played for CSKA Moscow, Spartak, Dynamo, Atlant near Moscow, Ak Bars Kazan, Severstal Cherepovets, Sochi, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod and other teams. In total, he has 408 games in the KHL, in which he scored 232 points (79 + 153). In 2009 and 2012 he became the world champion in the Russian team.
Dynamo Minsk also signed a trial contract with 27-year-old Daniil Ilyin. The striker spent the 2021/22 season at Admiral and Sochi and provided two assists in 20 regular season games.
