MOSCOW, 28 Jul – German car manufacturer Porsche will acquire a 50 percent stake in Red Bull’s Formula 1 program, according to Motorsport-Total.
It was previously reported that Porsche will enter the Formula 1 championship in 2025 or 2026 as a mechanic for the Red Bull team. According to the source, Porsche AG and Red Bull GmbH have filed a corresponding application for approval with the antitrust authorities.
The joint project was expected to be officially announced at Red Bull’s home Austrian Grand Prix, but this did not happen due to the fact that the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has not yet approved the rules for engines from 2026, which is a fundamental factor to enter Porsche into Formula 1.
The Alpha Tauri subsidiary will likely also get Porsche power but remain 100 percent owned by Red Bull.
