Kerala’s left-arm wrist-spinner, discovered in Kerala T20 League, played five matches, securing six wickets at 18.17 average and 9.08 economy. Bone stress reactions in both shins ended his season prematurely. Puthur remains with team for recovery under Mumbai Indians’ medical and strength staff.
Mumbai Indians signed Raghu Sharma, 32, from Punjab, at base price of Rs 30 lakh from Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP). Right-arm leg-break bowler, born in Jalandhar, brings rich domestic experience, having represented Punjab and Puducherry.

Sharma boasts 57 wickets in 11 first-class matches at 19.59 average, with best figures of 7/56, alongside 14 List A wickets in 9 matches and 3 T20 wickets. His standout Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 performance (14 wickets in 9 matches) earned him this maiden IPL stint.
Puthur’s exit is blow for Mumbai Indians, currently third in IPL 2025 standings with six wins in ten matches under Hardik Pandya’s leadership. Sharma’s inclusion adds depth to spin attack as team faces Rajasthan Royals on May 1 in Jaipur.
