Nate Diaz - Khamzat Chimaev. Fight Preview

The excessive vehemence of Khamzat will help the American gangster.

The fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz was prepared for so long that many simply stopped believing in it. However, Dana White nevertheless signed the necessary papers: the American and the Chechen Swede will meet on September 11 at the UFC 279 tournament. And immediately began talking about the “slaughter”, to which the matchmakers of the promotion lead Diaz. Veteran Dan Hardy even called the organization of the fight “revenge” on Nate.

“Looks like we’ve reached the point where someone needs to come forward with the accusation. It doesn’t look like a fair fight. It looks more like cruelty to the legend. Because the fighters speak out against the organization, they are executed live. This is what it looks like, and I hate to think about what will happen.

I just hope Nate is okay. Yes, Nate has good jiu-jitsu, but at some point jiu-jitsu is negated by good wrestling. And this will happen to Nate if he ends up on the floor. I believe that he will be neutralized and severely beaten in a position from above. I don’t think it will be pleasant to watch,” Hardy said on journalist Ariel Helwani’s podcast.

The chances of the 37 year old veteran against the on fire Borz are really not very good. Diaz lost the last two fights, albeit to top rivals. He fights too rarely, which definitely does not benefit sports conditions. But the word “execution” is definitely superfluous here. For such an important fight, Nate will definitely save a couple of surprises for the Chechen, in addition to his signature Stockton Slap.

The age difference also speaks against the American, but this is his advantage. Chimaev is wonderful in almost every aspect, only he lacks experience and composure. In a fight with Gilbert Burns, the Chechen, due to his vehemence, was twice close to knockout, having missed heavy blows from an opponent who was not the most striking. Diaz definitely surpasses Borz in cunning and will take every opportunity to “catch” an opponent on emotions.

To be honest, we are unlikely to see a sensational upset. But calling Diaz a “victim” is a blatant disrespect for the mixed martial arts legend. In addition to experience, Nate remains with his iron character, which has always been considered the main weapon of a scandalous fighter. Definitely not going to break the Gangster. But if Chimaev makes a gross mistake, the opponent will definitely punish him. Something, but Diaz knows how to punish.
