NHL: Colorado beat Tampa Bay in overtime at the start of the Stanley Cup finals

In the North American National Hockey League (NHL), the first match of the final series of the Stanley Cup took place.

The Colorado Avalanche beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4:3 (3:1, 0:2, 0:0, 1:0) at the Ball Arena in Denver, Ukrinform reports.

The next match of the series up to four wins will be held on June 19, also at the Colorado site.

Note that Tampa Bay is the winner of the Stanley Cup of the last two seasons. Last year, the Lightnings won the title by defeating the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 in the series. In the 2019/2020 season, the team defeated the Dallas Stars in the final (4:2).
