Ex-footballer of the Russian national team Shatov extended the contract with Ural
MOSCOW, June 16 – Oleg Shatov, a former football player of St. Petersburg Zenit and the Russian national team, has extended his contract with Ural, according to the official website of the Yekaterinburg club.
The new agreement with the 31-year-old midfielder runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Shatov, who started his football career at Ural, returned to his native club in February of this year, signing a contract until the end of last season. In the fall of 2021, the midfielder terminated the contract with Rubin Kazan and announced the suspension of his football career due to injuries.
Shatov played for Zenit from 2013 to 2020, spending 2018 on loan with Krasnodar. With the St. Petersburg team, the midfielder became a three-time champion of Russia, and also twice won the Cup and the Super Cup of the country. Shatov has not played for the Russian national team since 2016; he played 28 matches as part of the national team, scoring two goals.
