MOSCOW, 3 Dec – Midfielder of the Cameroon national football team Gael Ondua, who has Russian citizenship, said that he fulfilled his dream by taking part in the World Cup.
On Friday, the Cameroon national team beat the team of Brazil (1:0) in the match of the third round of the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar, but failed to reach the playoffs. Ondua, who has Russian citizenship, came on as a substitute in games with the Swiss (0:1) and Serbs (3:3).

“This championship is over for us! Yes, we beat Brazil, but it was not enough to go further. I will remember these days in Qatar all my life. Both positive team moments and all those chances that we did not convert. -for which we did not go further, but this is life,” Ondua wrote in his Telegram channel.
Ondua was born in Cameroon but has lived in Russia since childhood. The football player began his career in the youth team of the Moscow Lokomotiv. He also played for CSKA Moscow, Zorya Lugansk, Anji Makhachkala, Swiss Servette and Danish Vejle. Now he represents the German “Hannover”.
