American businessman Textor began negotiations to buy Lyon football club
MOSCOW, June 21 – The French football club “Lyon” on the official website announced the start of negotiations with American businessman John Textor on the purchase of a controlling stake in the club.
Textor plans to acquire a total of 66.56% of Lyon’s shares through its Eagle Football Holdings structure, which could subsequently increase to 88.55%.
Textor currently owns about 40% of the shares of the English football club Crystal Palace, 80% of the shares of the Belgian RWD Molenbeek and 90% of the shares of the Brazilian Botafogo.
Lyon finished eighth in the French league table last season.
