Ovechkin scores 821 goals in the NHL and closes the gap on Gretzky to 73 goals
MOSCOW, 24 Mar – Russian forward “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin reduced the gap from Canadian Wayne Gretzky in the list of the best scorers in the championships of the National Hockey League (NHL) in history to 73 goals.
In a regular season match against the Chicago Blackhawks, Ovechkin scored an abandoned puck. The Russian, ranked second in the ranking of the best scorers in NHL history, brought his total number of goals to 821.
Wayne Gretzky is the league record holder. On account of the Canadian 894 goals in 1487 matches.
