Ovechkin overtook Gonchar for a clean second place in the number of NHL games among Russians

MOSCOW, 8 Dec – Russian forward and captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin finished second in the net number of appearances in the regular championships of the National Hockey League (NHL) among Russians.
The striker took to the ice in a match against the Philadelphia Flyers, which takes place in Philadelphia. This game was Ovechkin’s 1302nd in the NHL regular season throughout his career. Thus, he surpassed Sergei Gonchar in the number of matches (1301).
The leader in the number of games played in the NHL among Russians is Alexei Kovalev (1316).
