Washington Capitals forward Ovechkin named captain of the Capital Division for the 2022 NHL All-Star Game

MOSCOW, Jan 14 – Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin has been named captain of the Capital Division for the 2022 National Hockey League All-Star Game, according to the NHL press service.
In the career of the 36-year-old Russian, this NHL All-Star Game will be the 12th.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews became the captain of the Atlantic Division, Nathan McKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche was chosen as the leader of the Central Division, and the title of captain of the Pacific Division went to Canadian hockey player Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid.
The NHL All-Star Game will take place February 4-6, 2022 in Las Vegas. Teams from four divisions will play a 3v3 tournament.
