Hockey player Panarin congratulated Shesterkin in English on the title of the best goaltender of the season in the NHL
MOSCOW, June 22 – Players of the club of the National Hockey League (NHL) “New York Rangers” turned to the Russian goalkeeper of the team Igor Shesterkin with congratulations in connection with the victory of the Russian in the nomination for the prize for the best goaltender in the regular season.
In their social networks, the Rangers press service published a video with fragments of congratulations from Shesterkin’s teammates, among whom Russian striker Artemy Panarin spoke. Panarin addressed his compatriot in English.
“Hey Six. Congratulations buddy. Keep up the good work. You totally deserve this award. Of course, thanks to me for my blocks, right? Have a good rest,” Panarin said.
Shesterkin became the third Russian goaltender in NHL history to win Vezina. Previously, the prize went to Sergey Bobrovsky (2013 and 2017) and Andrey Vasilevsky (2019).
In addition to Shesterkin, Finnish Nashville Predators goaltender Juuse Saros and Swede Jakob Markstrom of the Calgary Flames claimed the trophy. According to the voting results, Shesterkin scored 154 points. Markstrom finished second with 53 points and Saros rounded out the top three with 32 points.
